Brett Bond comes to Kansas City after two years in the Los Angeles Angels organization. A product of the University of Missouri, Bond would go on to finish seventh in school history in career at-bats with 770. Bond was a 2013 First Team All-State honoree at Westminster Christian Academy high school in St. Louis, Missouri. In his first year at the University of Missouri, Bond would be named to the All-SEC Freshman Team after finishing second on the team in BA and home runs. In his junior season, he would be named to the Johnny Bench Award Watch List, which honors the nation’s top catcher after hitting .307 with 10 home runs. His four years at Missouri would lead him to be drafted by the Houston Astros in the 23rd round of the 2017 MLB Draft. However, he would sign with the Los Angeles Angels, where he spent 2018-19 in their minor league system, making it as high as A+ ball with the Inland Empire 66ers. He was released by the 66ers on July 13th. 

Bond is the brother of former professional baseball player Brock Bond, who spent seven seasons with the San Francisco Giants organization before signing with the Winnipeg Goldeyes in 2014. He also played for the Colorado Rockies and LA Angels organizations and is currently a Transcendental Meditation teacher.
