Kalaika Kahoohalahala brought home the go-ahead run to give the Maui Na Koa Ikaika (8-9) the lead in the sixth inning, as the Maui Na Koa Ikaika hung on to beat the Sonoma County Grapes (7-10) 5-3 on Saturday.
With the score tied at two, Kahoohalahala came to the plate and singled, plating Logan Kanamu.Kahoohalahala paced the Maui Na Koa Ikaika at the plate. Kahoohalahala went 3-4 and drove in one. He singled in the third, fifth, and sixth innings.
The Maui Na Koa Ikaika held off the Sonoma County Grapes, as the Sonoma County Grapes were unable to overcome a three-run seventh inning deficit.
The Sonoma County Grapes scored one run in the eighth on a solo home run by Brandon Gregorich. Unfortunately, the Sonoma County Grapes weren't able to take the lead back.
Eri Yoshida got the win, running his season record to 3-0. He allowed two runs over six innings. Yoshida struck out none, walked one and gave up six hits.
Javan Williams ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 5 2/3 innings, walked three, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
