The DeKalb County Liners (21-13) beat the Will County CrackerJacks (22-12) 9-4 in seven innings on Monday at Brennan Field behind Joey Burney, who went 1-3 and hit a home run.

Mitch Elliott got a hit in each of his three at bats. He doubled in the third innings and singled in the first and fifth innings.

Brent Mueller improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the DeKalb County Liners. He allowed two runs over four innings. He struck out one, walked one and surrendered five hits.

Austin Dunfee was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked one and struck out two.
