Five first-inning runs helped the Home Plate Chukars (9-3) to a 10-5 win over the Atlanta Crackers (5-8) at Norcross High School on Saturday.

MATT FIERS racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Home Plate Chukars. He homered in the third inning.

TRAVIS BERGEN pitched lights out for the Home Plate Chukars. The Atlanta Crackers managed just one hit off of BERGEN, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out six during his four innings of work.

Nick Jones got on base three times in the game for the Atlanta Crackers. He singled in the fourth inning and doubled in the eighth inning.

AUSTIN SMITH got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered no hits.

Kevin Martin was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just zero innings, walked four, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
