The 6-4-3 Cougars (8-8)'s three first-inning runs built an early lead that helped bring home a 6-4 win over the OTC Bearcats (4-9) on Tuesday at Aviation Park.
The 6-4-3 Cougars would not relinquish the lead as the OTC Bearcats were unable to weather a three-run first inning deficit.
The OTC Bearcats scored on a sacrifice fly by EDDIE PAYTON and a solo home run by JEREMY BOYD in the fourth inning, a groundout by BRANDON LOWE in the seventh inning, and an RBI single by TREY NELSON in the ninth inning. Despite their efforts, the OTC Bearcats couldn't get over the hump.
TAYLOR HINSHAW went a perfect 3-3 at the plate for the 6-4-3 Cougars. He singled in the first and fourth innings and doubled in the sixth inning.
CONNER MASON improved to 3-0 on the year by picking up the win for the 6-4-3 Cougars. He allowed one run over four innings. MASON struck out five, walked two and gave up four hits.
Michael Venturelli was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed six runs in eight innings, walked two and struck out 12.
