Boxscore | Game Recap | Boxscore Text Version | Gamelive Version

The Atlanta Crackers offense too much for the OTC Bearcats in 14-5 rout

Story by Narrative Science.

The Atlanta Crackers (5-8) shut the door early on the OTC Bearcats (6-13), capturing a 14-5 victory on Thursday at Strong Rock.

The game was decided quickly as the Atlanta Crackers exerted their will early with 11 runs in the first three innings.

An RBI single by Hunter Thomas, a sacrifice fly by Pat Long, and a two-run single by Marquis Webb during the first inning and a three-run home run by Nick Jones in the second inning helped the Atlanta Crackers put some runs on the board early.

Jones racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Atlanta Crackers.

The OTC Bearcats couldn't get anything going as long as Gary Mele was on the mound. Mele held the OTC Bearcats hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Michael Venturelli was effective even in defeat, mowing down six the Atlanta Crackers batters and allowing zero runs.

The Atlanta Crackers hammered the OTC Bearcats pitching as six hitters had a field day, combining for 12 hits, eight RBIs and 10 runs scored.
