ZACH MCKORMICK brought home the winning run to give the 6-4-3 Cougars (6-7) the lead in the eighth inning, as the 6-4-3 Cougars hung on to beat the Windward Braves (1-7) 3-2 on Thursday.
With the score tied at two in the eighth inning, MCKORMICK came to the plate and homered.HUNTER BURTON racked up two RBIs on two hits for the 6-4-3 Cougars. He singled in the third inning.
The 6-4-3 Cougars relied on Chris Base to eat up innings en route to the win. Base pitched seven innings and allowed two earned runs, seven hits and no walks while striking out five.
W Waller was hot from the plate for the Windward Braves. Waller went 1-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fifth inning.
C Hwang (0-2) took the loss for the Windward Braves. He lasted just 3 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed one run.
