The Home Plate Chukars (8-0) and the Atlanta Crackers (2-7) passed the lead back and forth five times on Monday at Norcross High School, but in the end the Home Plate Chukars pulled out a 6-4 win over the Atlanta Crackers.
The Home Plate Chukars finally managed to grab the lead after a strong eighth inning. A sacrifice fly by T. Williamon scored JEREMY TAYLOR and gave the Home Plate Chukars the lead for good.
MARTIN CASTRO had an impressive outing against the Atlanta Crackers' lineup. CASTRO gave up just three hits, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his 3 1/3 innings of work.
Nick Jones racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Atlanta Crackers. He singled in the first inning and homered in the third inning.
Eric Alonzo couldn't get it done on the hill for the Atlanta Crackers, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in seven innings, walked two and struck out five.
