A walk-off single from BENNETT TOWNSEND brought home the winning run for the 6-4-3 Cougars (5-5) in a 4-3 victory over the Brookhaven Bucks at Aviation Park on Thursday.
HUNTER BURTON did his best to jumpstart the offense for the 6-4-3 Cougars, reaching base three times. He singled in the seventh and ninth innings.
ERIC NYQUIST handled the Brookhaven Bucks (4-7)'s lineup with ease, racking up 12 strikeouts. NYQUIST allowed two earned runs on four hits and no walks over seven innings.
CADEN FERGUSON improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the 6-4-3 Cougars. He allowed one run over two innings. He struck out three, walked none and surrendered one hit.
JAKE DYER (0-1) took the loss for the Brookhaven Bucks. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
