The Fort Worth Cats (47-37) pounded the Abilene Prairie Dogs (32-51) on Thursday 14-2 at Walt Driggers Field.

The Fort Worth Cats scored six runs in the fifth on a single by Jose Ruiz, an RBI single by Chuck Caufield, a single by RJ Harris, an RBI single by Harris, a double by Kenny Gilbert, a groundout by Adam Gordon, an RBI single by Jon Dziomba, and an RBI single by Antoin Gray.

Gray had two extra-base hits for the Fort Worth Cats.

Blake Nation's eight strikeouts were enough to push the Fort Worth Cats past the Abilene Prairie Dogs. Nation allowed one earned run, three hits and six walks over eight innings.

Scott Vander Weg was charged with his eighth loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in four innings, walked one and struck out one.

The Fort Worth Cats easily handled the Abilene Prairie Dogs pitching as six hitters combined for 18 hits, 12 RBIs and 10 runs scored.
