Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Saturday as the Abilene Prairie Dogs (30-45) outscored the Fort Worth Cats (42-34) 12-8.
The teams totaled 31 hits in the game.
The Abilene Prairie Dogs were led by Danny Gonzalez's hitting. Gonzalez went 4-5, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the second, third, fourth, and eighth innings.
Jose Ruiz racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Fort Worth Cats. He singled in the fourth inning and homered in the fifth inning.
Even though Erik Gonzalves allowed six runs over five innings he still recorded the victory, his first of the season. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered eight hits.
Steve Barnes (5-5) took the loss for the Fort Worth Cats. He allowed 10 runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out three.
