The Abilene Prairie Dogs' Batista comes through in the clutch, upends the Fort Worth Cats, 7-3

Wilson Batista brought home the winning run to give the Abilene Prairie Dogs (26-39) the lead in the seventh inning, as the Abilene Prairie Dogs hung on to beat the Fort Worth Cats (36-30) 7-3 on Friday.

With the score tied at three, Batista came to the plate and hit a grand slam, plating Jason Martin, Austin Newell and Joe Weik.

Batista racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Abilene Prairie Dogs. He singled in the fifth inning and homered in the seventh inning.

The Fort Worth Cats couldn't get anything going as long as Derrick Dingeman was pitching. The Fort Worth Cats managed just one hit off of Dingeman, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one during his three innings of work.

Matt Larkins recorded his second win of the year for the Abilene Prairie Dogs. He allowed three runs over six innings. He struck out four, walked none and surrendered four hits.

Casey Russell ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked three, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
