The McAllen Thunder (17-34) didn't put up much of a fight on Monday, as the Abilene Prairie Dogs (20-29) cruised to a blowout 8-2 win at Walt Driggers Field.
A two-run double by Kyle Nichols helped the Abilene Prairie Dogs score two runs in the sixth. The Abilene Prairie Dogs had one hit in the inning.
Eddie Browne racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Abilene Prairie Dogs. He singled in the second and fourth innings.
Tommy Hoenshell racked up eight strikeouts in the the Abilene Prairie Dogs win. Hoenshell allowed no earned runs on seven hits and no walks over seven innings.
Alexei Perez (2-3) took the loss for the McAllen Thunder. He allowed six runs in five innings, walked none and struck out one.
