The Abilene Prairie Dogs jump on the San Angelo Colts early and coast to 10-1 win

The Abilene Prairie Dogs (32-48) jumped out to an early lead on the San Angelo Colts (41-41) and captured a 10-1 victory on Sunday at Foster Field.

Six runs in the first three innings allowed the Abilene Prairie Dogs to put the game away early.

A two-run home run by Kyle Nichols and an RBI double by Danny Gonzalez during the first inning and an RBI single by Eddie Browne and a two-run double by Nichols in the second inning fueled the Abilene Prairie Dogs' offense early.

Nichols had three extra-base hits for the Abilene Prairie Dogs.

Freddy Flores picked up the win for the Abilene Prairie Dogs. Flores pitched nine innings and allowed one earned run, seven hits and no walks while striking out two.

Jamar Walton went a perfect 3-3 at the plate for the San Angelo Colts. He singled in the second, fifth, and seventh innings.

Brian Henschel ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his eighth loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in five innings, walked none and struck out one.

The Abilene Prairie Dogs easily handled the San Angelo Colts pitching as six hitters combined for 16 hits, eight RBIs and 10 runs scored.
