An impressive effort by Joe Greenfield hoisted the Lakeshore Chinooks (24-25) to an 8-2 win over the Battle Creek Bombers (19-30) on Thursday at Kapco Park.
The Battle Creek Bombers couldn't get anything going so long as Greenfield was on the hill. The Battle Creek Bombers managed just one hit off of the the Lakeshore Chinooks' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked four and struck out seven during his 7 2/3 innings of work.
Five runs in the first three innings helped the Lakeshore Chinooks blow out the Battle Creek Bombers. A fielder's choice, a fielder's choice, and an RBI single by Ryan Krill in the first inning supplied the early offense for the Lakeshore Chinooks.
Joe Battistelli couldn't get it done on the bump for the Battle Creek Bombers, taking a loss. He lasted just one inning, walked two, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
