The Alexandria Beetles' Fulmer comes through in the clutch, upends the Willmar Stingers, 9-7

Will Fulmer drove in the winning run to give the Alexandria Beetles (21-28) the lead in the sixth inning, as the Alexandria Beetles hung on to beat the Willmar Stingers (28-21) 9-7 on Wednesday.

With the score tied at five, Fulmer came to the plate and doubled.

It was a good day at the plate for the Alexandria Beetles' Fulmer. Fulmer went 2-4 and scored two runs. He doubled in the sixth innings and singled in the seventh inning.

The Alexandria Beetles held off the Willmar Stingers, as the Willmar Stingers were unable to overcome a three-run sixth inning deficit.

The Willmar Stingers scored two runs in the seventh on a two-run single by Michael Suchy. Unfortunately, the Willmar Stingers weren't able to take the lead back.

Ryan Padilla was hot from the plate for the Alexandria Beetles. Padilla went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He homered in the second inning and singled in the fourth inning.

Michael Reed got the win, running his season record to 3-3. He allowed one run over two innings. Reed struck out none, walked one and gave up two hits.

Kody Gorden was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
