The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters (21-24) built an early lead against the Madison Mallards (23-22), scoring four runs in the first inning, en route to a 8-7 win on Sunday at Witter Field.

The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters held off the Madison Mallards, as the Madison Mallards were unable to overcome a seven-run second inning deficit.

The Madison Mallards scored on a home run by Jack Livingston in the fourth inning and an RBI double by Derek Fisher, an RBI single by Taylor Gushue, and an RBI double by Mike Reuvekamp in the sixth inning. Despite their efforts, the Madison Mallards couldn't get over the hump.

Sean Godfrey racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters. He singled in the first, second, and fifth innings.

Kyle Wormington recorded his second win for the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters even though he allowed five runs over five innings. He struck out six, walked one and surrendered three hits.

Trevor Foss ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fifth loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked two, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
