An impressive effort by Kenny Roberts led the Willmar Stingers (27-18) to a 7-2 win over the Mankato MoonDogs (34-11) on Saturday at Franklin Rogers Park.
Roberts blasted two home runs for the Willmar Stingers. Roberts went 2-3 in the game with four RBIs and two runs scored. Roberts homered in the fifth and eighth innings.
The Mankato MoonDogs had the lead early, but couldn't hold off the Willmar Stingers. The Mankato MoonDogs were ahead until the fifth inning, but the Willmar Stingers would not be denied the win, taking the lead back on a three-run home run by Roberts.
Anthony Consiglio picked up the win for the Willmar Stingers. Consiglio allowed two earned runs, five hits and three walks while striking out five over 6 2/3 innings of work.
Zach Hall couldn't get it done on the hill for the Mankato MoonDogs, taking a loss. He lasted just 5 2/3 innings, walked three, struck out six, and allowed five runs.
