A walk-off single from Tyler Servais brought home the winning run for the La Crosse Loggers (22-7) in a 2-1 victory over the Madison Mallards (12-18) at Copeland Park on Thursday.
Servais was solid at the plate for the La Crosse Loggers. Servais went 1-4 and drove in one. He singled in the ninth inning.
The Madison Mallards couldn't get anything going so long as Jake Stassi was on the hill. Stassi gave up just two hits, allowed one earned run, walked two and struck out five during his seven innings of work.
Scott Schultz improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the La Crosse Loggers. Schultz struck out three, walked none and gave up no hits.
Daniel Gibson was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed one run.
