The Wisconsin Woodchucks outdone by Howard and the Madison Mallards, 7-2

The Madison Mallards (12-18) beat the Wisconsin Woodchucks (15-14) 7-2 on Tuesday at Warner Park behind Nicholas Howard, who had three extra base hits.

He doubled in the second and fourth innings and homered in the seventh inning.

Hobie McClain had an impressive outing against the Wisconsin Woodchucks' lineup. McClain held the Wisconsin Woodchucks hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three.

Eric-Filia Snyder did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Wisconsin Woodchucks, reaching base three times. He also drove in one runner. He singled in the second inning and doubled in the sixth inning.

Brandon Barker got the win, running his season record to 1-3. He allowed two runs over six innings. Barker struck out three, walked two and gave up five hits.

Jake Peter (0-1) took the loss for the Wisconsin Woodchucks. He lasted just two innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed three runs.

The Madison Mallards were sparked by Howard and Jeff Zimmerman, who teamed up for five hits and four RBIs.
