Kyle Turner drove in the winning run to give the Mankato MoonDogs (19-6) the lead in the eighth inning, as the Mankato MoonDogs hung on to beat the Alexandria Beetles (8-16) 8-7 on Saturday.
David Andriese doubled to start the eighth. He then went from second to third on a stolen base. Finally, Turner came to the plate with the score tied at five, and reached on an error, scoring Andriese and Chris Munoz.Munoz racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Mankato MoonDogs. He homered in the fourth inning.
Trevor Belicek pitched lights out for the Mankato MoonDogs. The Alexandria Beetles managed just two hits off of the the Mankato MoonDogs' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one during his three innings of work.
Alex Guilford ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 2 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed three runs.
