An impressive two-way performance from Clint Freeman led the Matsu Miners (13-19) to a 10-5 win Thursday over the Peninsula Oilers, as Freeman came up huge at the dish and on the hill.
Freeman racked up six RBIs on three hits for the Matsu Miners. He doubled in the first and second innings and singled in the sixth innings.
Freeman looked sharp on the mound. Freeman gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one during his one inning of work.
Nate Ring went a perfect 2-2 at the dish for the Peninsula Oilers (18-14). He homered in the seventh inning and singled in the eighth inning.
Andrew McGee improved to 2-3 on the year by picking up the win for the Matsu Miners. He allowed two runs over five innings. He struck out five, walked three and surrendered five hits.
J.D. Salles (3-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
