The Worcester Tornadoes take out the Newark Bears with help from Torres, 7-2

Chris Torres went 2-4 and hit a home run as the Worcester Tornadoes (29-70) took home a 7-2 victory over the Newark Bears (34-65) at Bears_Eagles Riverfront Stadium on Sunday.

He homered in the fourth inning and singled in the fifth and eighth innings.

Dan Sausville kept contact to a minimum, striking out six the Newark Bears batters. Sausville allowed one earned run on 10 hits and one walk over seven innings.

Charlie Stewart boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 2-2 day at the plate to pace the Newark Bears. He singled in the fifth inning and homered in the seventh inning.

Julian Sampson (1-7) took the loss for the Newark Bears. He lasted just four innings, walked three, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
