Boxscore | Game Recap | Boxscore Text Version | Gamelive Version

The New Jersey Jackals fend off the Rockland Boulders' late push, hold on 2-1

Story by Narrative Science.

The Rockland Boulders (43-49) were never able to get over the hump and overcome their troubles against the New Jersey Jackals (55-38) on Saturday, as the Rockland Boulders fell 2-1 at Provident Bank Park after falling behind by two runs in the third inning.

The Rockland Boulders scored one run in the fourth on a solo home run by Ryan Scoma. Still, the Rockland Boulders couldn't draw even.

Angel Berroa had two extra-base hits for the New Jersey Jackals. He doubled in the third and fifth innings.

The New Jersey Jackals got the win thanks in large part to Mike Ness's dominant, six-strikeout performance. Ness allowed one earned run on three hits and two walks over seven innings.

Bobby Blevins (8-9) took the loss for the Rockland Boulders. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out seven, and allowed two runs.
