The Quebec Capitales get 6 strikeouts from Gelinas, win 7-0 over the Newark Bears

A great effort by Karl Gelinas hoisted the Quebec Capitales (51-29) to a 7-0 win over the Newark Bears (26-55) on Sunday at Le Stade Municipal.

Gelinas kept the Newark Bears off the board during his seven innings of work. Gelinas allowed three hits, no walks and struck out six.

Everything was working at the plate for the the Quebec Capitales in the fifth. In the inning the Quebec Capitales scored five runs.

The Quebec Capitales were led by Jonathan Malo's hitting. Malo went 3-5, drove in one and scored three runs. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the fourth and eighth innings.

Pedro Rivera was charged with his ninth loss of the year. He lasted just four innings, walked four, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
