The Quebec Capitales cruise past the Newark Bears, 15-5

The Quebec Capitales (39-19) pounded the Newark Bears (17-42) on Thursday 15-5 at Le Stade Municipal.

A three-run single by Jeff Helps and a solo home run by Jonathan Malo helped the Quebec Capitales score four runs in the second. The Quebec Capitales had three hits in the inning.

Malo racked up five RBIs on three hits for the Quebec Capitales.

Maxim St. Pierre looked sharp on the mound. The Newark Bears managed just two hits off of St. Pierre, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his two innings of work.

Quentin Davis racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Newark Bears. He tripled in the first inning, doubled in the second innings, and singled in the eighth inning.

John Mariotti recorded his eighth win for the Quebec Capitales even though he allowed five runs over five innings. Mariotti struck out four, walked two and gave up seven hits.

Julian Sampson (0-2) took the loss for the Newark Bears. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked four, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
