The Newark (8-8) took down the St Paul 7-1 on Sunday at Bears _ Eagles Riverfront Stadi after slamming the St Paul with four runs in the fifth inning.
Daryle Ward racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Newark. He homered in the fifth inning.
Mike Ness picked up the win for the Newark. Ness allowed one earned run, six hits and two walks while striking out four over seven innings of work.
Ronnie Bourquin was solid at the plate for the St Paul. Bourquin went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the fifth inning and homered in the seventh inning.
Alberto Rolon ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He allowed seven runs in six innings, walked none and struck out four.
