A five-run explosion in the fourth inning hoisted the Lincoln Saltdogs (37-52) to a 7-1 win over the Sioux Falls Pheasants (39-50) at Haymarket Park on Wednesday.
Chris McMurray racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Lincoln Saltdogs. He homered in the second inning and singled in the fourth inning.
Ryan Sheldon struck out six hitters en route to the the Lincoln Saltdogs win. Sheldon allowed one earned run, three hits and three walks over seven innings.
Peter Gehle ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his eighth loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in four innings, walked one and struck out three.
