David Espinosa drove in the winning run to give the Lincoln Saltdogs (34-49) the lead in the ninth inning, as the Lincoln Saltdogs hung on to beat the Kansas City T-Bones (44-40) 5-4 on Thursday.
After Sean M. Smith tripled, Espinosa came to the plate with the score tied at four in the ninth inning, and singled, plating M. Smith.Chris McMurray rocked the Kansas City T-Bones with two home runs. McMurray went 2-4 in the game with three RBIs and two runs scored. McMurray homered in the second and sixth innings.
Tony Butler baffled the Kansas City T-Bones, striking out eight batters. Butler allowed no earned runs on four hits and two walks over six innings.
Justin C. Bass was solid at the plate for the Kansas City T-Bones. C. Bass went 4-5 and scored one run. He doubled in the seventh inning and singled in the first, third, and ninth innings.
Pete Parise got the win, running his season record to 6-5. Parise struck out two, walked none and gave up two hits.
