An awesome effort by Justin Garcia lifted the Amarillo Sox (37-42) to a 2-0 win over the St Paul Saints (41-37) on Friday at Midway Stadium.
Garcia struck out nine, paving the way for a the Amarillo Sox win. The Amarillo Sox's pitcher tossed 7 2/3 innings of shutout ball and allowed only four hits.
Tyler Goodro was hot from the plate for the Amarillo Sox. Goodro went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the second inning and homered in the fifth inning.
Robert Coe was effective even in defeat, mowing down seven the Amarillo Sox batters and allowing two runs.
Coe (10-4) was the game's losing pitcher.
