The St Paul Saints (39-35) were unable to fight back from the big hole they dug themselves into against the Gary SouthShore RailCats (34-41), and the St Paul Saints lost 2-1 to the Gary SouthShore RailCats after falling behind by two runs in the third inning.

The St Paul Saints scored one run in the fourth on a sacrifice fly by Ole Sheldon. Still, the St Paul Saints couldn't catch the Gary SouthShore RailCats.

Jon Gulbransen struck out eight hitters en route to the the Gary SouthShore RailCats win. Gulbransen allowed one earned run, four hits and no walks over seven innings.
