The Laredo Lemurs (27-33) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Amarillo Sox (33-29), recording a 12-3 victory on Sunday at Amarillo National Bank Sox Stad.

Seven runs in the first three innings allowed the Laredo Lemurs to put the game away early.

An RBI single by Javier Brito and a sacrifice fly by Stephen Douglas in the first inning and an RBI single by Brian Peterson and a three-run home run by Jimmy Mojica during the second inning fueled the Laredo Lemurs' offense early.

Mojica racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Laredo Lemurs.

Ryan Sasaki struck out 10, paving the way for a the Laredo Lemurs win. Sasaki allowed two earned runs, six hits and one walk over eight innings.

Despite the loss, the Amarillo Sox's Matt Lackie dominated the Laredo Lemurs' batters, giving up two runs and striking out seven.

Cliff Springston (0-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed 10 runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked one and struck out one.
