Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Friday as the Kansas City T-Bones (29-26) outscored the Wichita Wingnuts (33-20) 9-8.
The two teams combined for 26 hits in the game.
The game was back-and-forth heading into the ninth, with six lead changes.
Hunter Mense racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Kansas City T-Bones. He homered in the fourth inning and singled in the sixth inning.
Shaun Garceau handled the Wichita Wingnuts' lineup with ease, racking up seven strikeouts. Garceau allowed three earned runs on six hits and one walk over seven innings.
Matt Foust improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Kansas City T-Bones. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered one hit.
Matt Nevarez was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
