The Sioux City Explorers seize victory thanks to late wild pitch, drop the St Paul Saints 3-2

The Sioux City Explorers (23-27) took the last of five lead changes in a back-and-forth affair against the St Paul Saints (22-25), securing a 3-2 victory on Sunday at Midway Stadium.

The Sioux City Explorers pulled out the win thanks to a strong ninth inning. A wild pitch scored Wally Backman to give the Sioux City Explorers the lead for good.

Ty Marotz baffled the St Paul Saints, striking out five batters. Marotz allowed two earned runs, six hits and no walks over six innings.

The St Paul Saints were led by Adam Frost's hitting. Frost went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the first inning and homered in the sixth inning.

Eddie Delacruz improved to 2-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Sioux City Explorers. Delacruz struck out none, walked none and gave up no hits.

Kyle Carr couldn't get it done on the bump for the St Paul Saints, taking a loss. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.
