The Sioux Falls offense too much for the Lincoln in 13-7 rout

Story by Narrative Science.

The Sioux Falls (7-8) jumped out to an early lead on the Lincoln (8-8) and captured a 13-7 victory on Saturday at Sioux Falls Stadium.

With seven runs in the first three innings, the Sioux Falls left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

A three-run home run by Cesar Nicolas in the first inning and a two-run double by Cory Morales, a sacrifice fly by Jared Bolden, and a double by Nicolas during the second inning helped the Sioux Falls put some runs on the board early.

Nicolas racked up six RBIs on three hits for the Sioux Falls.

Asif Shah was solid at the plate for the Lincoln. Shah went 4-5 and scored three runs. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the third, seventh, and ninth innings.

Rod Scurry recorded his second win of the year for the Sioux Falls. He allowed one run over 3 1/3 innings. Scurry struck out two, walked one and gave up three hits.

Thomas Palica was charged with his third loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in two innings, walked two and struck out three.
