Nick Schumacher threw a shutout to lift the Sioux City (6-9) to a 5-0 win over the Fargo-Moorhead (6-9) at Lewis _ Clark Park.

The Sioux City's Schumacher kept the Fargo-Moorhead off the scoreboard for all nine innings he was on the hill. He pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on four hits while striking out eight.

Tyler Goodro pushed the Sioux City ahead, in the seventh inning, and the lead lasted until the final out. With the game scoreless in the seventh inning Goodro came to the plate and doubled, plating Ray Serrano.

Serrano put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Sioux City. He singled in the seventh inning and doubled in the second and eighth innings.

Paul Burnside was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out 11, and allowed four runs.
