Tanner Townsend was cold coming off the bench, but Townsend warmed up quickly as Townsend stroked a key pinch-hit double in the two to lead the St Paul (5-3) to a 5-2 win over the Sioux City (4-4) on Friday at Midway Stadium.

With Townsend came to the plate and doubled.

Robert Coe picked up the win for the St Paul . Coe allowed no earned runs, four hits and two walks while striking out four over seven innings of work.

Jason Jarvis (0-2) took the loss for the Sioux City . He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed three runs.

The game was never in doubt after the third, as the St Paul scored two runs on two singles.

The St Paul increased their lead with two runs in the eighth. A error scored Ronnie Bourquin for the inning's first run. That was followed up by Townsend's single, scoring Townsend.
