The San Francisco Seagulls (16-14) came out firing, but couldn't hang on to the lead, ending up on the losing side of an 8-3 ballgame against the Atwater Aviators (18-11) on Saturday at Fireman_apos;s Memorial Ballpar.

Evan Heptig put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Atwater Aviators. He doubled in the fourth inning and tripled in the fifth inning.
The Atwater Aviators relied on Joe Cochran to eat up innings en route to the win. Cochran pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, five hits and one walk while striking out three.
Kyle Slinger couldn't get it done on the rubber for the San Francisco Seagulls, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out five.
Matthew Farias, Gordon Madej and Heptig helped lead the Atwater Aviators. They combined for eight hits and four RBIs.
