Six first-inning runs helped the Top Speed Baseball (29-20) to an 8-3 win over the Alameda Merchants (18-17) at College of Alameda on Sunday.
Cody Zimmerman racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Top Speed Baseball. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the third inning.
Mitch Labbie put together a nice outing. Labbie held the Alameda Merchants hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.
Jacob Butler recorded his fourth win of the year for the Top Speed Baseball. He allowed two runs over five innings. Butler struck out four, walked four and gave up four hits.
Matt Friedman couldn't get it done on the hill for the Alameda Merchants, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in two-thirds of an inning, walked three and struck out none.
