Three first-inning runs helped the Vienna River Dogs (23-18) to a 6-4 win over the Youses Orioles (20-20) at James Madison High School on Thursday.

The Vienna River Dogs would not relinquish the lead as the Youses Orioles were unable to weather a five-run fifth inning deficit.

The Youses Orioles scored three runs in the sixth on an error, a fielder's choice, and a fielder's choice. Unfortunately, the Youses Orioles weren't able to take the lead back.

Luke Lowery went a perfect 3-3 at the dish for the Vienna River Dogs. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the first and fifth innings.

Nick Stephens pitched lights out for the Vienna River Dogs. The Youses Orioles managed just three hits off of the the Vienna River Dogs' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his five innings of work.

Pat Aloisio couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Youses Orioles, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked five and struck out none.
