The Bridgeport Bluefish fall 10-3 at the hands of the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs

The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (53-56) pounded the Bridgeport Bluefish (50-58) on Wednesday 10-3 at Harbor Yard.

A home run by James Shanks and a solo home run by Jeremy Owens helped the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs score five runs in the sixth. The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs had five hits in the inning.

Brian Barton put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. He singled in the third inning, tripled in the fifth inning, and homered in the seventh inning.

Despite the loss, the Bridgeport Bluefish's Jonah Bayliss dominated the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs' batters, giving up two runs and striking out five.

Nick Green improved to 8-8 on the year by picking up the win for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. He allowed two runs over seven innings. Green struck out two, walked one and gave up eight hits.

Matt Pike couldn't get it done on the mound for the Bridgeport Bluefish, taking a loss. He allowed eight runs in five innings, walked one and struck out two.

The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs' Shanks, Owens, Barton and Casey Benjamin combined for 10 hits and nine RBIs.
