The Sugar Land Skeeters (39-50) were never able to get over the hump and overcome their troubles against the Somerset Patriots (44-45) on Tuesday, as the Sugar Land Skeeters fell 4-2 at Constellation Field, Sugar Land after falling behind by three runs in the fourth inning.
The Sugar Land Skeeters scored one run in the fifth on a sacrifice fly by Ofilio Castro. Unfortunately, the Sugar Land Skeeters weren't able to take the lead back.
Adam Donachie racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Somerset Patriots. He singled in the second, fourth, and ninth innings.
Derell McCall picked up the win for the Somerset Patriots. McCall pitched six innings and allowed two earned runs, four hits and two walks while striking out four.
Amadeo Zazueta was solid at the plate for the Sugar Land Skeeters. Zazueta went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the third inning and singled in the fifth inning.
Scott Kazmir was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
