The Long Island Ducks (43-40) were never able to get over the hump and get over their troubles against the Bridgeport Bluefish (38-46) on Friday, as the Long Island Ducks fell 3-2 at Harbor Yard after falling behind by three runs in the third inning.

The Long Island Ducks scored two runs in the seventh on a fielder's choice and an RBI single by Kraig Binick. Despite their efforts, the Long Island Ducks couldn't get over the hump.

The Bridgeport Bluefish were led by a flawless day at the dish by Kennard Jones, who went 4-4 against the Long Island Ducks' pitching. He singled in the first, third, fourth, and seventh innings.

The Long Island Ducks couldn't get anything going as long as Gilbert De La Vara was pitching. The Long Island Ducks managed just three hits off of De La Vara, who allowed two earned runs, walked three and struck out three during his six innings of work.

Mike Loree (4-6) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just seven innings, walked two, struck out four, and allowed three runs.
