Jeremy Owens drove in the go-ahead run to give the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (37-44) the lead in the seventh inning, as the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs hung on to beat the Long Island Ducks (43-38) 5-2 on Tuesday.

Christian Lopez reached on an error to start the seventh. He then went from first to second on a groundout by Richard Giannotti. Finally, Owens came to the plate with the score tied at one in the seventh inning, and singled, scoring Lopez and Kevin Rios.

Casey Benjamin racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. He tripled in the seventh inning.

Chris McCoy recorded the win for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. He allowed two runs over seven innings. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered 11 hits.

Bob Zimmermann ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fifth loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked four, struck out five, and allowed five runs.
