Matt Padgett hit two home runs to carry the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (27-29) to an 8-3 win over the Long Island Ducks (32-23) at Regency Furniture Stadium.

Dan Reichert picked up the win for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs. Reichert pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, four hits and three walks while striking out five.

Bryant Nelson reached base three times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the third inning and homered in the ninth inning.

Mike Loree (3-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed seven runs in four innings, walked two and struck out five.

The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs were sparked by Padgett and Casey Benjamin, who teamed up for five hits and six RBIs.
