The Sugar Land Skeeters survive the Camden Riversharks 5-4 thanks to Lane's late-game heroics

Jason Lane brought home the go-ahead run to give the Sugar Land Skeeters (24-31) the lead in the sixth inning, as the Sugar Land Skeeters hung on to beat the Camden Riversharks (25-29) 5-4 on Saturday.

With the Sugar Land Skeeters trailing by three, Lane came to the plate and homered, scoring Dominic Ramos and Miguel Negron.

Lane racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Sugar Land Skeeters. He doubled in the fourth inning and homered in the sixth inning.

The Sugar Land Skeeters would not relinquish the lead as the Camden Riversharks were unable to weather a two-run seventh inning deficit.

The Camden Riversharks scored one run in the eighth on a solo home run by Brian Burgamy. Despite their efforts, the Camden Riversharks couldn't finish the comeback.

Pedro Liriano got the win, running his season record to 2-2. Liriano struck out one, walked one and gave up one hit.

Josh Walter couldn't get it done on the bump for the Camden Riversharks, taking a loss. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked three, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
