Bryant Nelson went 2-4 as the Long Island Ducks (32-22) took home a 3-1 victory over the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs (26-29) at Regency Furniture Stadium on Friday.
He singled in the first and fifth innings.Gustavo Chacin struck out eight, paving the way for a the Long Island Ducks win. Chacin allowed one earned run on five hits and one walk over eight innings.
A bright spot for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs in the defeat was Virgil Vasquez, who allowed only three runs while striking out eight.
Vasquez ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year.
