The Somerset Patriots (16-20) were never able to get over the hump and get over their troubles against the Camden Riversharks (17-19) on Friday, as the Somerset Patriots fell 8-6 at Campbells Field after falling behind by eight runs in the fourth inning.

The Somerset Patriots scored on , a two-run error, and a groundout by Jesse Hoorelbeke in the fifth inning and an RBI single by Jeff Nettles in the seventh inning. Still, the Somerset Patriots couldn't draw even.

Marquez Smith had three extra-base hits for the Camden Riversharks. He doubled in the first and third innings and homered in the fourth inning.

Keith Weiser had an impressive outing against the Somerset Patriots' lineup. Weiser gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out three during his four innings of work.

Carlton Smith was effective even in defeat, mowing down five the Camden Riversharks batters and allowing zero runs.

Mariano Gomez recorded his first win of the year for the Camden Riversharks. He allowed three runs over two innings. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered three hits.

Derell McCall (2-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed eight runs in four innings, walked none and struck out one.

The Camden Riversharks' Eduardo Perez, Colin Roberson, Chris Walker and Smith combined for nine hits and six RBIs.
