The Lancaster Barnstormers defeat the Sugar Land Skeeters after late game single, 6-5

The Lancaster Barnstormers (15-13) and the Sugar Land Skeeters (12-15) volleyed the lead five times on Friday, but the Lancaster Barnstormers came out on top for a 6-5 win on Friday at Constellation Field.

Emerson Frostad went a perfect 3-3 at the dish for the Lancaster Barnstormers. He singled in the second and fifth innings and doubled in the eighth inning.

Drew Locke racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Sugar Land Skeeters. He singled in the first inning and homered in the second inning.

Les Walrond got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He struck out none, walked one and surrendered no hits.

Michael Nix (0-3) took the loss for the Sugar Land Skeeters. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed three runs.

Thanks to one run on three hits in the top half of the first, the Lancaster Barnstormers had the early lead. Adam Godwin singled to start things off before Jesus Merchan singled, plating Godwin.

The lead stayed with the Lancaster Barnstormers after the eighth, when they scored three runs on an RBI double by Frostad, an RBI single by Godwin, and an RBI triple by Brad Boyer.
