Both the Pittsfield Suns (21-21) and the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs (7-35) put runners aboard on Friday, but it was the Pittsfield Suns that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 7-2 win at Wahconah Park.
The Pittsfield Suns relied on Shane Beauchemin to eat up innings en route to the win. Beauchemin allowed two earned runs, five hits and one walk while striking out four over six innings of work.
Jeff Andersen (0-9) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just five innings, walked four, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
